You know it is time to go to the gym when your legs are sore from bowling!
Last night Brandon and I had a real date. It kicked off with me getting a hair cut…I have been going to the same stylist for two years now, and she always makes my hair look so good. Last night she curled it for me, so I had a fancy new ‘do for the date! (I’ll give you a picture later…no camera with me now).
We went to dinner at a great mediteranean place down the street from our house. We had hummus, kabobs and persian tea. I wish I could eat like that every night! Then we were off to Vernon Lanes.
We didn’t know this when we went, but by the time we left, we found out that VL is the third oldest active bowling alley in the nation. It was built in the late 1800s (I had no idea people bowled back then!). And it still looks quite a bit like it did in the late 1970s. The chairs reminded me of orange creamsicles, and the end of the lanes had these beautiful colored diamond lights that made me think of disco dancing. There were only 6 or 8 lanes (I can’t remember), and the place was so cozy. Oh, and for those of you who are curious, my first score was 71, but by the third game, I had doubled it to 141! I have this problem with coordination where it is really difficult for me to walk forward and swing the bowling ball back at the same time!
And did I mention that the night ended with us watching “The Devil Wears Prada”? That’s right. Brandon was so nice to watch that movie with me. Of course I loved it, and he…didn’t. But I guess that starts to make up for all the times I have had to sit through some action movie that I didn’t want to see in the first place!
So, my left leg is pretty sore today from all of the bowling, but it was well worth it. Now I need to go for a walk and stretch out those muscles.
