Please let me take a moment to introduce you all to someone who is very special and very talented. This young lady is someone I played Barbies with, someone I went camping with (and made her keep hiking even though her ankle was swollen, oh and told her it was a good idea to wash her dishes in the creek by our camping spot), she is someone who let me curl her hair while watching “13 going on 30” even though she would probably have preferred the dreads, oh yes, and she is my younger sister! My sister is super-fun even though she kind of sucks at Nerts and she lets me pick on her sometimes too. OH, and she is married to this really cool guy with long red hair who is a musician and a math teacher. She is Krista-sista (really).
Krista can sew (she has a gift I don’t have-she can take some grungy piece of clothing and turn it into something completely different and completely cool), she can can embroider (hers end up looking like something you would want to frame, not something you would want to use in the hopes it might fall apart so you have a good excuse to get rid of it), and she can also take photographs better than a mad scientist with his latest experiment.
So, I stole these pictures from her Facebook account because I was so taken by them. I really wanted to share them all with you. Plus, I think my little sister rocks, and I wanted you all to meet her!
Lest I get into any trouble for failing to mention this, I also have an older sister who is equally as wonderful as Krista (in many different ways). To name a few, she kicks butt at Nerts (except mine), she is smarter than the mad scientist, she is an amazing listener and friend, and even though she might tell you otherwise, she stopped being able to beat me up the time I punched her for stealing my driver’s license! No, really, I LOVE my sisters. I am so thankful to have two sisters who are so different from each other and from me yet who I can call my family and my friends. I can’t wait to see them at Christmas time too!
