Promptly after Brandon left for work last night, I buckled down and decided I wanted to complete both of the custom order laptop cases that had been sitting patiently in the form of half yard cuts. For the first one I used a Heather Ross Medocino fabric. I love the color combinations and am especially fond of the octopi!
For the second laptop case, I used a Japanese cotton on the outside and a stripe/polka dot fabric I found at the quilt shop last week on the inside.
Do you like how the button looks like a flower?
When I finished these cases, I realized I had completed four custom orders and one baby shower gift set over the weekend (plus Thursday night) and really needed to make something for the ID shop! I had not listed any re-usable grocery bags yet, so I decided to do just that! And yes, this one is available for sale in my shop!
I used a vintage fabric I bought a month or so ago, and I really like the texture of it. The weave reminds me of sack cloth, but it is softer than that. I shrank the fabric in the wash to make the weave tight enough to hold up as a shopping bag. All of the seams have been reinforced, and my favorite part about it is that the handle is long enough to be worn on the shoulder.
