I sent out my first package today to the Beehive. It included these five napkin sets. I have a hard time parting with napkins for some reason, but a girl and her man can only have so many, and we have so many! I chose to buy a custom stamp from Terbear Co. instead of getting product packaging made. This was much more cost effective and allows me the flexibility of creating my own packaging to fit my products.
Sunday I made two sets of placemats to send off in my Beehive order. This first set is made with a new fabric line called Art Gallery by Patricia Bravo. (The napkin set that is second from the right in the picture above is from the same line).
I made the second set using one of the flower prints from Heather Bailey’s Pop Garden line as the main fabric and then two accent fabrics I picked up on Saturday’s trip to the new Joann’s that just opened in town (yipee!). I had originally planned to use the Heather Bailey fabric for another napkin set, but the print is a bit larger than I anticipated, so I went with the placemats.
I guess that is one small drawback to ordering online…every once in a while you get a little surprise. But it’s all worth it, and I still really like the fabric. That white fabric on the sides of the Pop Garden has little holly leaves imprinted on it. You can only really see them up close though.
I did interface both sets of placemats, unlike the previous set of Joel Dewberry placemats and table runner.
So now I am feeling a little tired from all of the sewing, packaging, cleaning up all of my messes, figuring out pricing, and on and on that goes with trying to get this order out in time. I think that tonight will be a “no-sew” night for me, and I will be cleaning my home so I feel a little less claustrophobic the rest of the week. Brandon has been a real trooper and doesn’t complain much about the messy house. Plus he is really good about cleaning, so it’s not like I’m the only one who cleans! He’s been a bit sick this week while trying to finish classes and deal with a more demanding work schedule than he normally has. Please pray that he gets better soon and that I don’t catch it!
I’ll leave you with some pictures of the packing process of getting everything to fit into my USPS Flat Rate Box (thank you for those!) . On top of the dinner napkins and placemats, I also sent out some tile coasters, pushpins, magnets and cocktail napkins! I hope you all are having a great week!
