For some reason, I have been hearing a lot about standardized tests lately. There have been mutliple conversations around this topic. I am not a fan of this topic because I tend to get a little fired up, and everyone just looks at me like, “wow, really? I had NO idea you were like this. Maybe we shouldn’t be friends.” Then they politely change the subject or leave the room. haha! just kidding…it isn’t quite that bad. But I do think standardized tests are one of the main reasons I never went through with the idea of being a teacher.
So, let me just make a quick confession to you, dear reader. I took the SAT for the first and only time at twenty. The only reason I took it was so I could go to college. I only lasted long enough to be sure I would get a decent score, and then I just started filling in bubbles at random. I hate standardized tests not because I am not good at taking them (I tend to do just fine) but on the principle that they are not a good idea. So, there you have it.

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day in the US I better tell you something I am thankful for (there are so many!). For starters, I am thankful for a long weekend, a great job, a creative outlet, a *wonderful* husband, living in Louisville, my large, loving family, and nice weather today!
