While spring fast approaches for some, snow still covers the ground in this neck of the woods. Flowers have yet to make the journey above ground in hopes of sunshine, but a few have been seen on my work table as of late.
These pretties came about from a Valentine’s gift. Last week I was talking to the lady who runs my favorite drive-thru coffee shop [note to self: find out her name], when she said she was really excited about Valentine’s Day. It’s her favorite holiday. So I decided to make her a Valentine’s Day present since she always makes something so wonderful for me (freshly roasted organic coffee with coconut milk cream. yum!). I noticed she likes vintage-y looking things and cardigans so I made a brooch out of vintage-looking fabric and a button a have from my run at the giant button store just before it closed. See here:
She said it was the best Valentine she would get. That was really nice, but I do hope she gets some chocolate or a nice bottle of wine.
The other flowers remain and one has become a headband for me. The trouble is, the headband does not stay on my head. I think it’s too large (my head, not the band). I will attempt to take it off of this particular band and get it onto a different headband, but for now it looks pretty with my other hair accessories.
The remaining three flowers are going to be new additions to the shop just as soon as…well, soon hopefully.
In the mean time I’m enjoying the beauty that only comes when snow covers the ground and the rooftops. I have a spectacular view from my sewing room these days with all that white stuff around. In fact I should really get back up there so I can list these pretties for others to enjoy before spring has come and gone!
